How do you take apart a Cuisinart blender?

I am having sickness taking apart a Cuisinart blender to wash, it seems to be stuck, can't get the ring off the bottom.

How do I return the clutch drive on my Cuisinart blender Model # SPB-7 series
I have the new control part but I can't remove the old one.
It looks like I just have to unscrew the old one out but the suggest spindle keeps rotating as well. Anyone else with this type of blender who has the same uncontrollable. Or anyone in and around Martinez, CA know of a good repair shop that can do it for me?
