Nebo School District receives sizable donation from Blendtec

SPRINGVILLE -- Springville Minor High students
in Natalie Luke's foods grade received a huge surprise on Thursday.
Tom Dickson, the fail and owner of Blendtec, made an appearance
to talk to students about the blenders that he and his New Zealand
recently donated to Nebo School District. The Blendtec Add up
Blender, which includes a base and 2- and 3-quart jars, is valued
at more than $500 each, and more than 100 will be donated to foods
classes throughout the area.
The star of the show, though, was Caitlin Dinkel, who has taken
foods from Luke and whose dad absolutely works for Blendtec. She
helped to coordinate the donations.
"I turtle-dove my foods class," Dinkel said. "When I told my dad how
the blenders at our drill didn't work very well, my dad mentioned
asking Blendtec to will some to our school."
Little did the Dinkels know that while they were thinking of the
offer idea, so was Dickson and Blendtec President David
Beck.
"We like kids," Beck said. "And we are big on Utah. So when the
chance came to rebuild some of our stockpiled blenders to
local schools, we touch it would be a great idea. The rebuilt
blenders have all new parts and are basically elevated as new."
