my garage door will CLOSE using the remotes, but not open. I can use the wall opener just fine, but not remot?

My remotes have worked upstanding fine for years. Recently I can only use my hand held lonely and my car remote (programmed in the rear view mirror) to Make the garage, not open. The opener attached to the wall works just top-grade. Any suggestions as to why?

i would inhibit the receiver antenna on the opener, sounds too odd that both remotes would have problem if it were batteries, I over it will be problem with the opener receiver.

Crafsman garage door opener stopped working by remote or wall switch. Red light in wall switch is out also.?

This is a craftsman 1/2 horse power series drive opener probably 15 years old (pre-safety beam sensors). Elfin of stripping a gear that I was able to replace it has been reliable since I bought the as a gift 5 years ago. One morning the little red light in the wall button was out and the door wouldn't m at all. Any troubleshooting suggestions short of buying a new one?

It sounds like a power outflow. That would be the 1st thing to check. Either the outlet it's plugged into, or the circuit if it's hardwired. Also, some units have a thermal impediment switch which shuts off the power if it gets too hot. It should reset automatically when it cools off but if somethings incorrect with it ... 15 years is a good long life for a garage opener; above all a chain drive! Hope mine lasts that long. capable luck
