Any thoughts on black ceramic cooktops?
I bought a new array two years ago, with a black ceramic cooktop. This has been the most labor-intensive appliance I have owned in 30+ years. I be reluctant it! Maybe if I'd taken one with the gray cooktop (of which there are too few, I might add), I would have been better off. I have a abiding fair-sized rough spot on one of the large burners - looks like it's imbedded in the ceramic, as it will not wind up successfully off, no matter what I do. Anybody else experience problems?
I uncontaminated homes professionally and I have not seen one of these stoves without some kind of delinquent. I don't think it matters what color it is. Even after I have successfully gotten all the burnt crap off there seems to be bubbles in the goggles. I had always wanted one of these but I have changed my mind, they are even more of a hassle. Have you tried using a scrubbing cleanser like Comet and a Scotch Shining pad? I have had the best outcome with these.
