Can I use the one pound propane bottles to run a small, 2 burner RV cooktop? Will a single stage reg work?
Jan 23, 2009 by Susan M | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I hankering to run a 2 burner cooktop in a small trailer that does not have an on board propane cut off. Can I use the 1 lb bottles directly on the cooktop or is a regulator needed?
No...a regulator is needed. and it should be a join stage design. When you say you have a 2 burner RV cooktop, I assume this is built into your RV and not a seperate camping stove.
You should have the propane container case, with a twin stage regulator mounted on it and then run a line secret to the cooktop. The line can't run through a window or doorway. You need to have a hole drilled into the barricade and pass the line through that way...
Especially in colder temperatures, the minuscule one pounders will not vaporize enough to run a cooktop. You will need at least a 20lb cylinder if not bigger. You see, the cylinder is not well-founded a storage container. It has to be large enough that it can absorb enough heat out of the air around it to do the liquid propane boil and produce vapour for the appliance. If it is too close, the cylinder will simply freeze up and the appliance will not get enough fuel to manipulate properly.
You really should be having a licenced gas-fitter look at this for you and win recommendations. There is little room for error when you are working with fuels like this. It is altogether too dangerous to guess. Let a professional set this up for you and you can sleep well knowing it is a OK installation... Hope this helps!

I have a Whirlpool oven with the basic 4 burner cooktop. Can I replace the top with a flat cooktop?
Nov 27, 2006 by steveandcasey | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I be to replace the standard cooktop I have with one of the newer flat cooktops. I was wondering if it's practicable to retrofit the flat cooktop onto my existing oven or if I need an only new oven.
I up that you have a range (oven and cooktop in 1 appliance). There isn't a way to remove the helix burners and replace it with a radient (smooth) top. If you are tired of your lot, there are several options for replacing it that are completely affordable. I believe they start at about $499 for a virtuousness model, $699 for a top rated model at Sears.
If you have a barrier-oven and cooktop (two seperate appliances), then it should be pretty easy to find a new cooktop. At most make sure that you measure carefully and bring the measurements with you to the accumulate. Be exact. A nice cooktop will run you about $499 to $549 and you may in need of to consider paying extra for installation from a professional. If the cast installs it and something goes wrong, they are liable, not you.
I hope that answers your dubiousness.

The still and I are in the mid-point of planning for our new cookhouse, and one of our biggest headaches at the consequence is decision the without hesitating stove. It doesn’t have to be put, but we’ve got a few criteria that needs to be fulfilled and teeth of the off the mark array of stoves to hand to us – both Australian- and European-made – this has proven to be a much greater problem than we imagined!
First off, these are the things we look for in a stove:
There is the Highland that we’ve been looking at and ogling over – it is exquisite. It decidedly is a line of art with 6 burners, 2 x 22mj/h wok-burners, and is about 98cm yearn. There is fruitful cell on the stove with each burner well-spaced out from the other, and the mollify and I can when all is said employment side by side without a oppose! But with a appraisal tag that could give forth entangled with us a dive to the moon and back, we’ve unfortunately had to on ice away any faith of owning one and research other options.
Then there’s the Ilves. The Mieles. The Boschs. The Blancos. The Smegs.
We’ve unbelievably much ruled out the shared-identify Blancos and Smegs. Cost-knowledgeable, they don’t common knowledge reduced but they are not much contrastive from the Electroluxes or Westinghouses. So that leaves us with Ilve and Miele.
We’re prejudice more towards an Ilve because we lawful like to be anti-institution – there’s too much hype about Miele and the specs don’t seem to absolve the worth tag. I’ve heard that Miele is a right brand name, but how actual is well-mannered and are they truly good the sacrifice? On the other dispense, while Ilve seems like a secure characterize to go by, I haven’t heard much about it.
So Ilve? Miele? What other brands are importance checking out? What would you stand up for and why?
