Help testing exhaust fan and switch in gas cooktop?
I have an Amana gas cooktop (Standard #AKGD3060E, Mfg#P1131629NE) with built-in exhaust fan. The fan has stopped working - unqualifiedly dead. I removed the fan assy and the switch from the cooktop and would like some view on how to test these with a volt ohm meter.
The fan switch is an infinitely adjustable undependable rotary switch - clicks once as you move from off to on, then the fan speeds up as you continue rotating until it stops at Elaborate. There are 3 wires: Red; Black; White.
Can you please tell me how to test it?
The fan assy has 4 leads: Funereal; Blue; Yellow w/ green; Brown
Can you please tell me how to assay it?
Also, where can I get a wiring schemtic for this cooktop?

find the be nourished wire tothe switch...touch one end of the meter to that...then other to either of the two other leads.. click all way around to see if at any call you get continuity(Use the OHM scale lowest setting) keep first lead still on provision wire then other lead test 3rd wire doing the same....both tests should show the meter continuity...if didgital meter showing anything but zero... for zero means the wires never affiliate..and means the switchis bad.. if using an analog meter... NO diflection means NO bearing... and bad.. and all the way to the right means switch is fine... anything inbetweenmeans its shady..
