portable butane stove/burner vs electric coil stovetop?

im musical much fed up with my apartment's whirlpool electric-coil stove. it heats slow, it heats low, its touched in the head.
im thinking about buying a portable butane burner and just using those a substitute alternatively.
assuming average costs for the butane bottles, ordinary electricity rates, and a standard cooking load, which will expense more $$$ to operate at the end of the month?
I was a Harmoniousness Corps Volunteer in West Africa for 2 years, where the Cohort furnished me with a butane 2-burner table-top stove, which I happily familiar for the whole time I was there. I got a couple of those big bottles and they usually lasted me 4 to 6 mo. My African neighbors were eccentric to see how it worked, so it was a conversation piece too. It worked extremely well and I can't judge of a reason why you couldn't do the same thing here, and I would, too, if I didn't already have a gas range. The only imperil I can think of, which is obvious and would apply to an electrical stove only just as much, is that you have to keep children away from it so they don't burn themselves.

My Thermador electric cooktop, coil burners type, has a burner with a crack in it.?

When I reciprocally on any of the other 3 burners this cracked burner heats up and ejects some sparks at the check. If I replace this burner will this solve the problem or will the new burner also automatically come on? The cooktop worked dainty before this burner problem.
Fair replace the cracked one. That should fix it. It is probably shorting out somewhere along the line. It shouldn't get about on when the other burners are on unless it is also turned on.
