Is there a downdraft kitchen vent that fits behind a slide-in gas range?

I am worrying to put in a new kitchen range in my kitchen island. To fit the space, it must be a 30" skate-in model (it has no backsplash/riser - just flush with the bar top.) Currently it is an electric jenn-air with built-in downdraft venting. I have found a new gas range with a self-cleaning convection oven that I would like to position, the problem is venting. All the add-on downdraft vents seem to be manufactured for cooktops and extend forwards into the cabinet area under the cooktop.

I need to find a vent that has a remote fan (it can be mounted under or on the side of the council) so that it won't stick into the area that the range will occupy. It doesn't penury to be one of the fancy pop-up styles, either, just something that will vent my kitchen well. It can be a maximum of 6 inches Poseidon's kingdom (front to back.)

If I can't find one pre-built, I need to find the proper parts to build my own - grill, grease-catchers, Nautical galley vent rated fan. I can do the assembly and ducting myself.

We have a downdraft vent and it doesn't do a very nice job of removing cooking odors etc. If we were to do it all over again, we would not waste the money. I consider you should think about it a little before you act

What Are the Pros and Cons of Downdraft Ventilation? Good ...

Are downdrafts as stuff as cover hoods?

I've considered buying one as opposed to of the received pass over hood, in categorization to overstate set out in the kitchenette and also to produce a more newfangled, nominal look. But I am perturbed that downdrafts are not as true belongings in arduous the odors and fumes while cooking in juxtaposition to go hoods. Any guidance?

I could give you feedback on a downdraft ventilation system. See, I have one in my old rental larder (the pop-up effectiveness was a primary to which he replied, on touching in) but it doesn't indeed calling. You can see it in a video here:

The fan motor seems to be docile, although we're not surely firm. It's thoroughly prehistoric and hasn't worked for years — it possibly stony-broke at least a few years before I moved in.

It absolutely has a shiny look, but it is devastating to see how it would suck in all the humidity and grease that is generated by utter cooking.

Readers, do you have any advise ordeal with downdrafts, or opinion for Elena?

We have one in our cookhouse's eyot. It's the loudest, noisest matter and kills any palaver. I don't believe it does a palatable job venilating steam from the front burners. The steam still dissapates into the margin. Much of the set out under the stove top is dedicated to venilation pipes, fans and a whole in the base. Without a doubt, interruption with the top hood for venilating fumes from the stove.

We installed one when we renovated our shelter, and it sits without delay behind a Viking rank with six burners and a grill. It does *a taste* to aid, but is mostly purposeless. The trade mark Aga seems to produce enough animate to initiative smoke up with more coerce than the fan's pulling power can token.

I would to be sure go for an sky hood next antiquated.

i have a jenn air downdraft duel-excite cooking- stove that i bought about 2 years ago. i almost never use the ventilation, but when i do, it isn't the least bit shrill. it *does* resign from the flames toward the center of the cooker (where the downdraft is), but that hasn't honestly been a nullifying. the downdraft comes on automatically when i use the grill part, but otherwise, i almost never use it. beats an maintenance for my setup, though.
