Cooks & Cocinas: Ceal and Charles Gorham

After a few years of dreaming, a duo dived into a remodel to bring their kitchen up to speed with their growing cooking skills.
Who's cooking: Ceal and Charles Gorham . Charles is a bencher, and Ceal runs his office in addition to working part-once in a while as an emergency room nurse at San Antonio Military Medical Center , formerly BAMC.
What's cooking: At least 10 household members — if not 15 or 20 — gather about once a week for dinner at the Gorhams' undertaking. Cajun dishes are frequently on the menu, and so are other ethnic foods.
In this caboose: The Gorhams went from demolition to Easter dinner in six weeks when they remodeled their Oakwell Farms kitchenette in 2010. They have lived in the house since 1985. “When we first moved into the accommodate, we weren't very sophisticated cooks,” Ceal says. “Over the quondam 10 years, cooking has become very important to us.”
The space: About 14 by 24 feet.
On the surfaces: Archetypal pecan cabinets and tile floors were keepers, so those predicated the table choice. Interior designer Robin Black helped with selections, which included brown-toned Silestone counters.
