Is there a downdraft kitchen vent that fits behind a slide-in gas range?
I am dispiriting to put in a new kitchen range in my kitchen island. To fit the space, it must be a 30" skid-in model (it has no backsplash/riser - just flush with the piece top.) Currently it is an electric jenn-air with built-in downdraft venting. I have found a new gas stretch with a self-cleaning convection oven that I would like to acquisition, the problem is venting. All the add-on downdraft vents seem to be manufactured for cooktops and lengthen forward into the cabinet area under the cooktop.
I need to find a vent that has a removed fan (it can be mounted under or on the side of the house) so that it won't stick into the area that the range will into. It doesn't need to be one of the fancy pop-up styles, either, just something that will announce my kitchen well. It can be a maximum of 6 inches deep (front to back.)
If I can't find one pre-built, I need to find the orthodox parts to build my own - grill, grease-catchers, Nautical galley vent rated fan. I can do the assembly and ducting myself.
We have a downdraft communicate and it doesn't do a very good job of removing cooking odors etc. If we were to do it all over again, we would not misspend the money. I think you should think about it a little before you act
