How to replace old Jenn-Air downdraft cooktop?

We are looking into buying a home that is 22 yrs. old. It has an older Jenn-Air electric downdraft cooktop. I know NOTHING about downdraft cooktops. Can it be replaced w/any stamp cooktop? How hard to replace? Do they work well? What about the duct work?? It's all very confusing to me, any usurp/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

can a jenn air downdraft cooktop be installed as an undermount in granite?

my kindred is getting granite countertops(undermount) settup,
addition a downdraft cooktop for our island.
is it possible to have this settup, to not have the "fillerstrips" of the cooktop not show?, like how a kitchenette sink would be, undermount?
That is not a canny move. If the cook-top needs to be replaced at some point you would have to pay to have the entire token pulled up and put down again. My friend had hers less than 6 mos and it is being replace due to manufacturers error

Forbear! there is a stain of melted polyester textile on my jennair cooktop and I prerequisite to apprehend how to cleansed it off without ruining the cooktop integument. I accidentaly brushed against the burner after pathetic the saucepan off the cooktop. I was competent to get most of it off while it was still hot/melted but there is some extant. Any ideas of what would struggle?
