New Jenn air dual fuel, gas grill cooktop, major downdraft problems?

Wow do I over we have made a mistake. We just purchased a brand new dual incite Jenn Air range. This is the model with half the top being a gas grill and the other side having two gas burners. The oven is electrifying.

We paid $2549 for the range and another $940 to install it! So we got about $3500 into what I'm thoughtful is a piece of crap.

Installers leave, I'm excited out comes the NY steaks. Fire up the grill and let it pre-eagerness, Fan for downdraft operating on high. Throw those bad boy steaks on the grill and within 5 minutes the unbroken house is filled with smoke, alarms going off etc. Restrain downdraft ouside and it is pumping out serious air flow, I can feel it on stove when I slot hand over it. It pulls down a piece of paper etc. However, when grilling, it captures perhaps 25% of the smoke. As you know grilling gets smokey. Any tips to this? Is this simply how it is, or could the draft piping be installed wrong? Any tips are appreciated.

I don't suppose it's an installation problem. I had the exact same model in my last house and had the severe same problem. I had my doubts about the vent when I first saw the thing, but my wife wanted one and it honestly did work well otherwise.

It just seemed to me that a downdraft next to a pan with rising smoke had a fundamental blot in the reasoning. We learned to live with it as the only alternative was to install a variety hood which was structurally not feasible in our house..

Is there a downdraft kitchen vent that fits behind a slide-in gas range?

I am distressing to put in a new kitchen range in my kitchen island. To fit the space, it must be a 30" neglect-in model (it has no backsplash/riser - just flush with the chip top.) Currently it is an electric jenn-air with built-in downdraft venting. I have found a new gas range with a self-cleaning convection oven that I would like to gain, the problem is venting. All the add-on downdraft vents seem to be manufactured for cooktops and continue forward into the cabinet area under the cooktop.

I need to find a spiracle that has a remote fan (it can be mounted under or on the side of the house) so that it won't stick into the area that the go will occupy. It doesn't need to be one of the fancy pop-up styles, either, righteous something that will vent my kitchen well. It can be a maximum of 6 inches deep (front to back.)

If I can't find one pre-built, I call to find the proper parts to build my own - grill, grease-catchers, cookhouse vent rated fan. I can do the assembly and ducting myself.

We have a downdraft announce and it doesn't do a very good job of removing cooking odors etc. If we were to do it all over again, we would not disable the money. I think you should think about it a little before you act
