How to replace old Jenn-Air downdraft cooktop?

We are looking into buying a building that is 22 yrs. old. It has an older Jenn-Air electric downdraft cooktop. I know NOTHING about downdraft cooktops. Can it be replaced w/any name brand cooktop? How hard to replace? Do they work well? What about the duct work?? It's all very confusing to me, any plagiarize/advice would be greatly appreciated!!

. Can it be replaced w/any label cook top? Yes. How hard to replace? On a scale of one to ten, a three. Do they work well? Yes they do a agreeable job. What about the duct work? Have you checked to see if it has duct work? If so,it can be second-hand on the other brands.

Jenn-Air CVE3400B Cooktop Wiring?

I am planning a scullery remodel for my family. We have family get-togethers approximately twice a month and the pay no heed-in electric stove (Maytag MER5730AAW) is not enough cooktop space. I acquired two Jenn-Air (Maytag) CVE3400B electric- cooktop-downdrafts that are perfected for the kitchen since we rarely use the oven (maybe once a year). Here are the specs.

Maytag MER5730AAW sticker:
3 wire - 1 off - 60 Hz AC only
120/240V 120/208V
10.4Kw 7.8 Kw

Jenn-Air (Maytag) CVE3400B
3 wire - 1 form - 60 Hz AC only
120/240V 120/208V
7.0Kw 5.3Kw

Questions:
1) Would I be able to use the existing wiring?
2) If yes, Can I split the existing to 2 seperate boxes for each of the cooktops?

No. Your furnishing to the range area is sized for the existing range. Even if you rebate the oven, you are unlikely to have sufficient capacity in the breaker or the contribute line. Run a new, properly sized supply line connected to a new breaker for the two new cooktops.
