I have a Whirlpool electric file with the 4 burners on top (not flat). 2 days ago, the 'Cooktop On' light stayed on after cooking on the stove top. None of the burners are on, and everything seems to be connected out. The still work too, and so does the oven. I unplugged it thinking peradventure it'll reset itself or something, but no luck. Not sure what to do.........its just a hardly red light, but it bothers me with it being on. I'm a cautious person especially being a pater of small children and I'd like to get it fixed so I will know for trusty if a burner is on or not! Please help! Thanks!
since you have not managed to fix it yourself. call a fettle technician. it is likely a fault in the surface sensor outline or a shorted light driver.
