Can a 5 quart Crock-Pot be used on 3 quart recipes?

I have never inured to a slow cooker in my life and i just purchased my first. I also purchased a Slow Cookers programme for 2 cookbook. Most of the recipes in the book call for a 1 1/2 quart to 4 quart slow cooker. I have no awareness as to whether i should return mine for a smaller Crock-Pot or if it will be ok to use the 5 quart for the recipes.
Definitely! It will not make a difference in the meal. It's just like using a bigger pan to roast a chicken in, or something. I have a big crock pot and use it for smaller recipes all the time.

Some recipes call for the use of a 5-6 quart slow-cooker. We are a people of TWO, therefore looking to get a smaller crock-pot, maybe a 3.5 quart. Can we still use the recipes for the larger slow cookers?
Just arrange sure you have room for all the ingredients! I think slow cooker recipes are moderately forgiving. Unless you are adjusting the amount of ingredients you use, just keep the cooking times the same. If you are halving the modus operandi, I would reduce cooking time by 30" to an hour (in encyclopedic)
