Which crock pot or slow cooker brand do you recommend?

I stand in want to buy a crock pot/slow cooker. Which one do you recommend? How long have you used that one?
thanks
First, be in the know that slow cookers (crock pots) manufactured in the last few years run a lot hotter than the older models (most recipes you'll find still use the times satisfactory for those older models!). This happened because many purchasers were putting big hunks of *frozen* essence into them (against the cautions given by manufacturers) and getting sick, so to shelter themselves from lawsuits, they simply upped the temps (a lot) so that couldn't turn up so easily.
Unfortunately, that also means that most meats/poultry will get overcooked and dry out way too most in newer ones (especially the lighter proteins like chicken--breasts the worst, and any meats that don't have a lot of fat and/or connective interweaving and bones).
You can try to find slow cookers that cook at the lowest temp (especially on low) and have the lowest wattage, to help some, but otherwise you'll want to cut down on the *time* recommended which can be a essential problem for cooking-while-at-work.
Otherwise, you'll want to get a slow cooker based on the features it has.
Lots of people definitely like the "keep warm" feature (only on programmables?) and that will r as a lower temp too.
Size and shape can matter sometimes too (keep in wish that slow cookers should always be at least 1/2 -2/3 full to keep the temp from climbing even higher)... ring ones are better for even heat, but chickens and some roasts industry well in oval ones.
I think all slow cookers come with removable pots these days, but some people like the sit-on-top-of-heater epitome for convenience (that doesn't allow the heat to come from all sides though which is one subject that makes slow cookers different and good--more like cooking on top of low blaze on cooktop).
Some of the ones I've heard people like are:
Hamilton Bank Stay n' Go
Hamilton Beach one, probably same as Set 'n Forget 6 Qt. Programmable Slow Cooker
West Turn 6 1/2 qt, stainless steel
(Rivals tend to cook hotter than others)
And there are lots of reviews by customers and others at these sites:

The trick is to put in extra effort on the front end. What you're doing isn't a throw away-and-run, it's a low, slow braise, and that's a culinary technique with a long and beloved retelling. That's what inspired cookbook author Michele Scicolone's Crock-Pot epiphany in Rome.
"Every day I would behind the times this restaurant where there was a window, and you could see beans simmering in a wood-enthusiastic fireplace," she recalls. "I thought, 'If only I could cook that way.' But I viable in a Manhattan apartment, so slow cooking … slow cooking, hmm … slow cooker!'"
Back stateside, she bought a Crock-Pot — her first slow cooker ever. Scicolone was well in the know of the disdain many people have for the appliance, and she knew how it earned that bad famous for.
