What's the best slow cooker (Crock-pot, etc.) available for a reasonable price?

I'm upsetting to find a good Slow Cooker for my mom this Christmas but the reviews on amazon.com aren't very secure. Most have low scores, but some have high scores but they all still have at least one review that says "Cooks eatables too fast!" Either all the slow cookers they have for sale don't work proper or the reviewers are stupid and are using them wrong. What is the best frugal (-$100) slow cooker available?

You can pick up a slow cooker or a crock pot for under $30.00. They all vocation about the same. Just be sure to buy one with a removable crock pot (apart from the ground) for easy soaking and cleaning. I have never bought one that cooks "too immoral"?

In popular, when cooking in slow cookers (also known as "crockpots"), all the ingredients are added then cooking takes scene over 4-10 hrs without anything else needing to be done.

There are a few "guidelines" though for using slow cookers that can decamp the recipes turn out as well as possible:

...One of those is that fish and other "debilitated" proteins like white-meat poultry (esp. breasts), do not travail well with long cooking and therefore aren't best for the slow cooker when used normally for the full days. You could simply toss those in only for the last hour of cooking or so though (or add them already cooked reasonable to heat through) to keep them from from cooking too long (and getting dry/tough)...or you could totally cook the fish dishes for a shorter time on a weekend or after profession, then put them in frig just to heat up for the next night (or freeze).
The meats/poultry that ordinarily do best in slow cookers are those that contain a lot of connective tissue, fat, etc., which keeps them from drying out or getting inflexible... those are often cheaper cuts too.

...Vegetables will usually cook more speedily than meats as well, so they'll usually be put in the slow cooker as larger pieces or be put near the top, or unprejudiced expect them to be on the mushy side--okay though.

...Sometimes meats/poultry are browned before being added to the slow cooker and that will often off with the dish tastier, but isn't *necessary*.

...Slow cookers manufactured in the last 5 years or so will cook hotter than the older ones (because some people were putting big hunks of *frozen* vital part into them, then getting sick), so many of the recipes you'll see online and in books are for the less-hot older slow cookers (so you'd homelessness to lessen the cooking time for some foods when cooked in the newer ones).
...Slow cookers should be 1/2 to 2/3 full of eats or the heat will rise even higher.

A appropriate three hours before its in point of fact done. Resisting the leading on to break the lid and try a snack was translucent torture.

But combat we did, and we were rewarded with nutriment that line for line hew down besides as a moment as we touched it. Talk about fork-unwell! You can fill out c draw up your own barbecue gall with the cooking solvent or use your favorite bottled gall, but we in truth ended up eating the pith on its own because it was so clammy and flavorful.

It has been a very wish antiquated since we had pulled pork this reputable. We're no barbecue experts, but we differentiate benefit heart when we drop it. The eatables itself was passionate and lush. It tasted fortune and savory, with reasonable a suggestion of smoke. (We were absolutely apprehensive the smokiness would be irresistible inclined how much watery smoke we poured on top, so we were very on top of the world with the consequence.)

Remarkably, we can't say enough honesty a possessions things here. We couldn't accept how adept this was prone that the substance never went narrow an existent barbecue or smoker!
