Well-founded good ideasHamilton Beach has come up with the nicely packaged Half-Pint Deferential Serve Maker ($29.99, available in May). It comes in a round canister that resembles an ice cream container. In prison is the maker, of course, which consists of two sturdy 12-ounce bowls that are chilled in the freezer before use (you get two bowls so you can cope a couple of bowls of ice cream in short order), with an increment of a removable dishwasher-safe paddle and a lid. Pour your ice cream combination into the chilled insert (recipes included), plug it in, and you'll have ice cream in six to 12 minutes, depending on how much you're making. The shape comes in ice cream parlor colors: blueberry, bubblegum and pile. Nice price, too.
