I'm about to use my Hamilton Seaside crock pot for the first time to make a roast. It is 3 QT. The settings are "off" "keep animated" "low" and "high".
I covet it to cook for a long time, so I know I need the "low" environs...but I don't know how many hours to allow. Six? Eight? Twelve?
I read a review of this cooker that said the low stage set was good for "all day"...but again, how long is that?
Anybody have this unhurriedly cooker/crock pot, or is just really brilliant?

Most recipes say eight to ten hours is favourable. It is good to set it on high for awhile to get it warm (1/2 hour) but do not up it on high or the food will be charred. It doesn't hurt most recipes to bar them on low too long, for ten hours or more.

How do I safely clean my ceramic crock pot bowl? ?

I recently got a new hamilton lakeshore crock pot with 3 different bowl sizes. I love it, but the ceramic bowls don't seem to non-radioactive like ceramic should.
I recently cooked black eyed peas in one of the bowls and cannot get the rest out of the bowls. I don't want to scratch them up so I don't want to use an SOS or stainless tiptoe pads so I need something safe to clean ceramics.
I have soaked the basin in boiling hot water, I have cleaned it while it is burning hot from the oven, and I have employed so much elbow grease that my elbow feels like it is falling off & my hands are cramping.

It is not that it has food particels on it it is more like the black eyed peas stained the dish. Instead of a beautiful white it is now kina like dirty brown, spotty and streaky. Wow that really does not good good.

Vinegar is a staple in both my kitchen and my cleaning issue bin. Working as a waitress through college, I found that many restaurants use this as well. It sanitizes, bleaches, and de-greases -- and is perfectly safe.
Put 1/2 cup of vinegar and a teaspoon of Dawn primary dish detergent in the crock pot with warm water. Allow this to "cook" on acme for 20 minutes. Rinse the pot after it has cooled to the touch and the best part of your stains should be gone.

I bought this crockpot after my Adversary blew itself up (shorted out) in only a year and I unhesitating I did not wish for to go Equal again.
