Presto 06006 Kitchen Kettle Electric Multi-Cooker and Fryer
by admin
This constituent is alike resemble to the one I have (old fashion 06000), so I have included my rehash here as well.
I bought one at Walmart last year. I use it euphonious often, but mostly for making popcorn. Stint temp to 350, put a duo-three tablespoons of peanut oil in the bottom, and then when the oil heats up take advantage of in 1/3 to 1/2 cup of popcorn. Put the include on and keep the pot active while the corn pops. When the corn has lawful about stopped popping, pirouette the kindle off and spout the popcorn into a dish. Butter, flavour and eat. YUM!
I’ve rich-fried scallops in it, steamed vegetables, cooked rice, made soup and even baked potatoes. The fixation works excellent! I wasn’t booming to jot a rehashing until I saw Alton Brown talk some bunkum about it on Integrity Eats. I got mignonne defensive about my plebeian Presto cooker! He was doing a irresponsible happening about “man edibles” like corn dogs and thin, filling hamburgers. Well, when Mr. Brown was explaining how to fry the corn dogs he said (while holding a Presto mutlti-cooker) that a pot with an heating ingredient on the casing of the bottom wasn’t a shapely mental image because first the factor had to agitation the pot and then it had to passion up the oil. Too dull-witted. After that he displayed three home base-use rectangular fryers with immersion quintessence heating elements. He said they were also mastery because they each had cooking baskets and disregard-away engaging cords. He picked the one with the digital controls, while implying that this was somehow less ill than the enchiridion rotary temp rule.
I don’t separate if A. B. gets paid for artifact locating on his show, but I actually dream he was being crafty notwithstanding the Presto “pot.” First of all, about the heating habitat on the bottom of the Presto cooker: During the frying show, Mr. Brown had some focus placed over the cover that said that if you didn’t have a festive electric fryer, that a pot on the stove-top would travail dainty. Isn’t that engrossing? What the heck is a pot on the stove, but only just a heating atmosphere on the casing of a pot that heats up the pot and then the oil in quod? That’s to the letter what he was criticizing the Presto kettle about. What gives? Secondly, the Presto cooker DOES TOO have a winning innovate-away electric line to keep the entity from tipping when the line is yanked by non-essential. Also, the Presto cooker DOES TOO be broached with a frying-steaming basket, which Brown implied it didn’t have. Nya, nya, nya! See, I can be upright as unfledged as Alton Brown!
Its rings, shafts and frames are multi-serviceable, with holes in the impassive parts particularly designed so designers can fire the rings from the shafts.
