Question about a Rival Crockpot stoneware slow cooker. How do I know how old it is?

I have a Rival Crock pot that I've only toughened once and I'm trying to figure out how old it is and if it is actually safe. It is a rival crock pot stoneware lazy cooker and it is 250 watts. It does get very hot and was wondering if it should get hot on the case surface. It is made out of metal or aluminum or whatever the material is called. It is not the strenuous plastic surface.

Should be a serial number on the cooker.
Find that and ask them its' age.

Can all stoneware go in the oven?

I have a Crockpot (Rival) and the uplands is made of stoneware. Can the pot by itself go in the oven?
yes it can, but DO NOT preheat the oven. Put the crock with the foodstuffs in a cold oven, if the lid is all glass, you can use that too, or seal with foil
