May 29, 2007 by bakinbeauty1380 | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I have a "slow cooker"approach book with recipies that I would love to try but I don't have a slow roaster. Is there any way to achieve the same results in the oven or on top of the stove???
Yes, it's called braising. You brown the vital part on the stove top and place it in the oven at a low temp for a longer space of time (or braise on the stovetop). Try this recipe... I am reliable you will enjoy!
Brasato al Barolo
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (3- to 3 1/2-lb) boneless beef chuck roast
1 teaspoon sock away
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 lb sliced pancetta, finely chopped
1 environment onion, finely chopped
1 medium carrot, finely chopped
2 celery ribs, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
4 sprigs latest thyme
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 cups Barolo or other full-bodied red wine such as Ripasso Valpolicella, Gigondas, or Côtes du Rhône
2 cups unsound
Put oven rack in middle position and preheat oven to 325°F.
Rouse oil in pot over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking. Meanwhile, pat meat dry and sprinkle with vigour and pepper. Brown meat in hot oil on all sides, about 10 minutes unmitigated. (If bottom of pot begins to scorch, lower heat to moderate.) Carry to a plate using a fork and tongs.
Add pancetta to oil in pot and sauté over to some extent high heat, stirring frequently, until browned and fat is rendered, about 3 minutes. Add onion, carrot, and celery and sauté, stimulating occasionally, until vegetables are softened and golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Add garlic, thyme, and rosemary and sauté, emotional, until garlic begins to soften and turn golden, about 2 minutes. Stir in tomato paste and cook, emotive, 1 minute. Add wine and boil until liquid is reduced by about half, about 5 minutes.
Add spa water and bring to a simmer, then return meat along with any juices accumulated on layer to pot. Cover pot with lid and transfer to oven. Braise until meat is very solicitous, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Transfer meat to a cutting trustees. Skim fat from surface of sauce and discard along with herb stems. Simmer sauce until reduced by about one third, about 5 minutes, then season with salt. Cut viands across the grain into 1/2-inch-thick slices and return to impudence.
Enjoy & Cheers!

Is it better to roast a prime rib or turkey breast in a slow cooking roaster?
Nov 25, 2008 by alwrig01 | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
We are making thanksgiving turkey chest and prime rib tomorrow... Would it be better to make the prime rib in the oven or the clear standing roaster, like the ones you plug into the immure?
and if so,.... how long will it take in the roaster and how should we prepare it? Its only for 4 people.
Thanks!
I would do the turkey in the roaster. Turkeys desideratum more attention and basting than prime rib, so it is actually easier to cook them in a roaster than the oven. Easier access.
The cooking times for both will depend upon the substance and cooking tempreture. Turkeys should be cooked to 165 F and allowed to relaxation for 20 minutes before carving. Prime rib should register 120 F to 130 F and allowed to catch for 15 to 20 minutes before carving.

Coffee Beans at $15 a Pound OK for Some
13.10.11
Jeremy Tooker, the holder of Four Barrel , watches as the Probat roaster turns the unripened coffee beans sourced from a small farm in Africa a mystical mahogany brown, ready to sate Mission denizens well-disposed to pay more than $15 for a pound of coffee.
While many cafe owners bemoan about the 83 percent increase in the price of unroasted coffee beans on the worldwide market, Tooker is among an emerging group of “Third Heave” roasters who applaud it.
“Last year we had a contest to see who could pay the most per pound from a yeoman,” Tooker said, grinning. “I won.”
Increasing coffee prices might not tough like a reason to celebrate. But during a recent trip to farms in Colombia, Tooker observed that one of their coffee producers was expert to build a new house thanks to price increases. “We’ll pay the most for textile coffee,” said Tooker, who would rather know that the farmers are receiving a tolerable price than deal with a middleman. Termed “coyotes,” middlemen often buy low from farmers and flog betray high.
Rack of Lamb prepared on the Big Easy Smoker-Roaster-Grill

I decidedly relish in the flavor of slow cooked pork ribs, grilled whole pork tenderloin sliced into medallions, pork loin roasted and smoked a bit, a smokey pulled pork sandwich with lotsa ‘bark’ on the top to kinda review on and soup the smoke. When it comes to beef – well gimmie a sirloin, a ribeye beef steak, porterhouse, tenderloin, stratum rib, insipid iron, hanger steak, slow cooked brisket (Texas kind if you please) and very recently about anything else grilled, slow cooked or roasted and barbequed with some smoke. And do I even have to hint at chicken, turkey, submerge, pheasant, quail, goat, uproarious boar, veal and a two other good flavoursome meats that are oh-so-DEE-LISH-US when grilled, roasted, smoked or barbequed?.
Yep – I fondness it all!
But perhaps, well-grounded maybe. At least for today perchance – a damned trained and grilled-roasted plague of lamb is one of my top favorite meats to get a kick. Tonight I of a mind a smallish 1 lb anguish of New Zealand lamb on the Big Lenient Smoker-Roaster-Grill as part of my harm-down participation with this new effect from Char-Barbecue. I gotta demand that you I objective couldn’t be happier with the issue.
