Ribs in crock pot help! Black stuff all in the pot, are the ribs ok?

I found a plan and put short back ribs in a crockpot.

They have only been in for a hour, but there is black stuff every where? Is it from the bones? Why is it doing this will they still be ok to eat?
I have in mind it is from the bone! Im not sure. :(

How can I get my crock-pot clean?

I have a black ceramic crock pot and I can never get this residuum cleaned out of it. I have tried sos pads, bar keepers friend and of indubitably regular dish soap. I have let it soak as well.
And there is still always a whitish leftover left.


I have a black one too, and i use a minor bit of bleach in the soapy water when i clean it. Just let the soap and whitener sit for a bit then wash it and it should be gone. It works for me, no stains :) promise this helps
