Dishwasher Fires Have Consumers Burning Up

PITTSBURGH -- Scores of frustrated consumers are taking to the Internet to voice their discountenance with KitchenAid dishwashers and the lack of assistance they've received from the following.
On KitchenAidFire.com , consumers have been posting accounts of their dishwasher disaster stories.
Like many of those who posted online, consumer Kathrena Franks said her $2,000 KitchenAid dishwasher was only 5 months old when it caught fire.
"The bells and whistles were ringing and whistling and there was that acrid, electronic reek. So, I opened the door and put my hands on the controls and it burned the tips of my fingers," said Franks. "It was horrid. My house, I was afraid my house was going to burn down."
Franks said she had disease getting a straight answer after calling the store where she bought the appliance.
