Older KitchenAid (custom21) Dishwasher not cleaning upper rack?

Higher up rack of dishwasher doesn't seem to get any of the cleaning cycle.Anybody have any experience with these dishwashers or any ideas on how to decent this problem? Trying to avoid the "repairman". Daily help!
The pipe filter may be clogged. This prevents the pump from spraying urgently enough to get the top rack. Take off the filter screen or basket and get the gunk out. Mine once did this from just a mignonne bit of plastic wrap blocking the circulation. Try this fix before shelling out $$ for a repairman. Proof luck!
