What causes my KitchenAid Superba (stainless steel) dishwasher to make a whirring noise when its running?

What causes my KitchenAid Superba (stainless stiletto) dishwasher (bought in 2003) to make a whirring noise when it's perpetual?

Is this something that I can fix myself without paying somebody else to do it?

Any web link I can use to help me, like diagrams, do-it-yourself videos, etc?
The fracas is not normal. The dishwasher is supposed to be the quietest model around. But the whirr is like a Lilliputian loud motorcycle running on a racetrack inside the dishwasher. I soup I'd get personal opinions online first before actually making a services call. This is a 2003 model. Aren't they supposed to last a long metre?

I'll take a fancy at it... possibly the motor or could be the sprayer arm spinning around spraying the wet onto your dishes.

Has it always sounded like this? Consult your operators guide under the trouble shooting section to see if it addresses this problem. Or, if you positive a good handyman have him give a listen to it. And as a last resort call a service tech determine your problem.

I bought an LG appliance and it does not unadulterated as easily as my KitchenAid dishwasher or stove. No matter what I use, I wind up with streaks. Mere Green does not work. Even Stainless Steel Magic does not line.
