Will a tall tub dishwasher fit in the space of a standard dishwasher?

I am buying a new dishwasher. My old dishwasher measures 34- 3/8 inches tall. The dishwasher i requisite to buy is 35-1/4" tall (its a Tall Tub dishwasher). On the website it says "cut out altitude is 34-35" What does that mean? Will the new dishwasher fit in the room of the old one or is it too tall? Cust svc said the Tall tub SHOULD fit??? Help?
The distinction is in the tubs not the overall size. What they are telling you is the min. height and the max. Most are from around 33 3/4" to 35 1/8". For either 18" or 24" broad units.

Or do you use the top integument of the dishwasher instead of the counter top?

Both say they are built in, but I cadenced my counter tops and the Tall Tub wouldn't fit underneath. So my question is if you got a tall tub dishwasher, do you have higher token tops or is the top of your dishwasher flush with the counter?
Thanks for answering! If you look at the specs on the web pages, they have a spec saying "Detail Height" which implies to me that the whole product is that tall, and those measurements are unalike from the Standard to the Tall Tubs. I think I'll take a tape measure to the rely on and check it out in person!
Also on the Specs list, the Tall Tub says Mention HEIGHT (In decimal format) : 35.25 In.

The top of the dishwasher should be under the counter top, not clean out. I would suggest that you re-measure your opening again with all due respect.
Either one should fit, unless during positioning the cabinets were cut down to accommodate the personal desires of a previous proprietor.
